Youth Leadership Corps (YLC) Application

The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center Youth Leadership Corps (YLC) is a group of young leaders, ages 14–18, who learn about and create projects to educate their community on issues of sexual violence prevention, healthy relationship promotion, and other relevant social justice topics. YLC members are paid a stipend for their participation. Members are expected to attend weekly after-school meetings in-person at BARCC's Cambridge location and virtually via Google Meet over the course of the academic year (October - May).

Please fill out the form below to apply. Once submitted, you will be contacted to set up an interview.

Currently accepting applications for 2023-2024.

Youth Leaderships Corps members will receive consideration without discrimination based on race, creed, color, sex, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship status, or any condition prescribed by state or local law.

If phone is the best way, please ensure that the information above about caller ID and voice mail is accurate. Note that we cannot currently offer the option to text, but we are working on it!

We understand that a lot of teens come to the YLC from their own experiences. Some youth are survivors of sexual violence themselves, some have people they care about who are survivors, and some apply to the YLC for the opportunity to be activists for social justice and to help their communities. Please answer the following questions and know that you do not need to share any personal experience of sexual violence.

At BARCC and with the YLC we have open and honest conversations about sexual violence and its impacts on various communities. These conversations can sometimes be heavy.

During the 2023–2024 school year, the YLC will meet for two hours weekly (day/time to be determined), with some occasional training and engagement opportunities.

(extracurricular activities, sports teams, work, etc.)

Please review the YLC expectations and agreements that we ask all members to sign on to.
