Volunteer

BARCC’s vision is to end sexual violence through healing and social change. When you become a BARCC volunteer, you take an active role in helping us to deliver on that promise. Our diverse group of volunteers comes from all age groups, levels of experience, and walks of life. But they share our commitment to supporting survivors, empowering communities, and ending sexual violence.

As a BARCC volunteer, you will:

  • Make a difference in the lives of sexual violence survivors and their families.
  • Join a community of women and men working to end violence.
  • Deepen your understanding of sexual violence and what it takes to prevent it.
  • Help strengthen your school, workplace, or community.
  • Gain experience that can help you with or guide you to a career dedicated to helping others.

There are many ways to volunteer with BARCC, from direct services positions that require 40 hours of training and a one-year commitment to one-time events that require little or no training. We train volunteers on a regular basis. Find out more:

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) certification training is done directly by the SANE program.
