What immigrant survivors should know about the Lowell Immigration Court

BARCC supports and provides legal services to survivors with immigration needs, regardless of their status, and we want to share an important update on this topic. The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) opened a new immigration court on April 8, 2024 serving the Greater Boston area:

Lowell Immigration Court

Do you have a pending immigration case in immigration court? Pending cases may be transferred to the Lowell Court depending on your zip code. Hearings scheduled in Boston, MA or Hartford, CT may be canceled. You may receive cancellation notices and new hearing schedules much sooner than their previously assigned hearing. 

Has your case been scheduled with immigration court? You can check the status of your case on the EOIR’s website by entering your A-number. Then you should be able to view your assigned date, time, court, and judge. If nothing comes up, your case may not be docketed yet. Please continue to check frequently. 

Are you in removal proceedings and seeking to file your application with the court? Depending on your zip code, you may need to file your application with the new court as opposed to filing in Boston, MA or Hartford, CT.
