The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center's 2010 Champions for Change Gala & Auction was held on October 28, 2010 at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge. The evening celebrated extraordinary accomplishments in healing, advocacy, and leadership. The evening featured fine food & drink and silent & live auctions and raised over $100,000 to support BARCC's free services. 2010 Champion for Change, Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo and our extraordinary volunteers were presented with awards.
Mintz Levin has a longstanding commitment to providing pro bono legal assistance to the community, and an unparalleled willingness to generously allocate resources to providers that serve sexual violence victims. The firm's outstanding leadership was a key factor in the passage of the new Massachusetts law that allows victims of harassment, sexual assault and stalking to obtain a criminally enforceable restraining order against their perpetrators. For many years, Mintz Levin's legal counsel has been invaluable to BARCC as an organization. The firm has also provided pro bono legal assistance to protect the rights of individual BARCC clients time and time again. Mintz Levin offers a priceless combination of legal expertise, compassion and dogged determination that few other firms can match. They are highly deserving of this award for their exceptional and enduring contributions to the fight against sexual violence.
