High School

The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center is committed to providing materials and support to high school educators interested in preventing sexual violence.

The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center has led hundreds of workshops for high school students over the last 20 years. We want to share this experience with other educators.
We have prepared a formal curriculum for our most popular workshop. Each curriculum includes:

  • Research foundation for the curriculum
  • An Overview that includes: instructor qualifications, recommended length, intended audience, a short description including the goals and required materials.
  • In depth instructions for each activity including learning objectives, detailed trainers notes, and questions to expect.
  • Handouts.

Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: What Every Teen Should Know

The goal of this workshop is to build the skills of adolescents in recognizing and responding to sexual harassment in the workplace and to prevent them from engaging in these behaviors. The information is presented in a format accessible and engaging for youth and provides activities such as small group discussion, debate, and role plays to deepen their understanding of the important concepts.
To download this curriculum for free, please complete a short request form. The information on the request form will allow us to tell our funders who is interested in this type of materials. If you have any questions, you can e-mail BARCC.

It is made up of group discussion, debates, role-plays, and media arts projects. Topics include gender stereotypes, oppression, healthy relationships, teen dating violence, sexual violence, and community prevention strategies. The objective of this multiple session curriculum is to change community attitudes and beliefs about sexual violence in order to create more supportive communities for survivors, decrease norms that support sexually inappropriate behaviors, and eventually eliminate sexual violence in the community.
