Tell a friend

Most survivors never tell anyone about their experience because they don’t know how the other person will react. But survivors who are respected and believed experience fewer long-term negative effects from sexual violence. If someone you know has been raped or sexually assaulted, let them know that BARCC can help. We can also help you.

We provide free, confidential services for survivors and their families and friends, ages 12 and older:

  • 24-hour hotline crisis counseling
  • 24-hour accompaniment to a hospital emergency department
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Legal assistance
  • Assistance with post-assault issues, such as housing, finances, immigration, employment, education, and more
  • Community awareness and prevention services

Nobody deserves to be raped. And nobody should have to suffer in silence. Help us help survivors. Together, we can bring about the social change we need to end sexual violence.

“Inviting my friends and family to walk with me at the Walk for Change finally gave them something to do to show their support and care for me. ”
