Tell a Friend

Most survivors never tell anyone about their experience because they don’t know how the other person will react. But survivors who are respected and believed experience fewer long-term negative effects from sexual violence. If someone you know has been raped or sexually assaulted, let them know that BARCC can help. We can also help you.

Please tell your friends, family members, coworkers, and others about BARCC. We provide free, confidential services for survivors and their families and friends, ages 12 and older. We work with survivors regardless of when the violence occurred, and our goal is to empower survivors to heal. We also work with a wide range of organizations and communities, including schools, colleges, and police, to advocate for change. We provide training in how to respond to survivors and create cultures that prevent sexual violence in the first place. Our services include the following:

  • 24-hour hotline crisis counseling
  • 24-hour accompaniment to a hospital emergency room
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Legal assistance
  • Assistance with post-assault issues, such as housing, finances, immigration, employment, education, and more

Nobody deserves to experience sexual violence. And nobody should have to suffer in silence. Help us help survivors. Together, we can bring about the social change we need to end sexual violence.

Our mission is to end sexual violence. We empower survivors of sexual violence to heal and provide education and advocacy for social change to prevent sexual violence.
