Marie Claire magazine is looking for survivors of sexual assault or rape, ages 18-45, of all ethnicities and from all states who had a rape kit done, and are willing to be photographed for their November, 2009, issue as a part of a larger story regarding untested rape kits. Marie Claire will arrange the photo at no cost to the survivor. This story is part of their effort to make untested rape kits a national priority.

Sharing your story can be a complicated decision. BARCC provides training in public speaking for survivors, including how and where to share your story, how to overcome nervousness, and how to handle questions. If you would like to talk to BARCC about this opportunity, or about receiving training or joining our Speakers Bureau, please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

There are also many on-line forums for survivors to share their story. Some of them are listed in our on-line resource section, Resources by survivors for survivors. You should carefully review the privacy policies of any site before sharing your story.

Every survivor experiences sexual violence differently, and every survivor can add to our understanding of the problem of sexual violence. Together we can work toward creating a world without sexual violence.
